How buying a charity gift works

How buying a charity gift works

It's really easy!

Buying a Real Good Gift is real easy!

Simply follow these easy steps:

  1. Select the gift or gifts you want, then pay at the check-out.
  2. You can choose to receive a physical gift card in the post that you can give to the gift receiver, or you can choose to receive a printable email card. We’ll also email you a tax deductible receipt for your purchase.
  3. Remember, physical cards are only available if ordered by December 15th 2019. After that, our great printable cards will still be available via email only.

Feel real good about yourself, you just gave a real good gift!

What you're giving

When you select a Real Good Gift for your mother-in-law, best friend, Kris Kringle – in fact anyone – your charity gift goes to help real people.

Give a phone call or a hot, healthy meal and your gift supports people who are isolated or overcoming crisis, add a shelter toolkit to your cart and you’ll provide safety and comfort to people around our region.

How our charity gifts are chosen

Red Cross is part of the largest humanitarian network in the world, working here in Australia and in almost every country on earth.

In Australia we work with people overcoming crisis, help in disasters, support refugees and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Overseas we’re on the ground after major disasters and we’re in communities over the long haul helping them recover. Our gifts reflect the real work our teams on the ground deliver.

Where your money goes

Each gift represents the work we do in Australia or overseas. For example, we support newly arrived refugees and people seeking asylum; we provide hot meals to young people sleeping rough; we provide shelter toolkits in communities around the Asia Pacific when disaster strikes. We also do many other things, and prioritise this work according to where the need is greatest.

The money from your ethical gift will be pooled into funds to support specific areas of work or programs, and by doing this, we can ensure our Red Cross staff and volunteers are making the greatest impact on people’s lives.

If we receive contributions in excess of the needs in a particular category, we will use it in other categories represented by other charity gifts.

You can read exactly how your donation will be used on each charity gift page.

Red Cross will not deduct more than 10% from this campaign to cover administrative and operational costs.
